Infinite Money and Shotgun Ammo in the Laboratory
In the Laboratory, there are three safes with no locks containing about 3-5,000 in loot. There's usually a 2/3 chance for money to appear. You can leave the laboratory area through quick travel to another area (Resort, Moresby, Jungle) and come back to open the safes to get more money. After completing the sidequest for Will in the laboratory, shotgun ammo will be made available to you on the table in the room he is in.
Skip Eating Animation
If you are in a rush when eating or drinking items to regain health simply hit KICK right when you take that first bite or sip to skip the rest of the animation.Floating Propane Tank Exploit
During two or more player games, while using a pick up truck, have a player load a propane tank in the backof a pick up truck, climb in the back. The propane tank will start to slide back and eventually drop out of the truck and follow you, the player in the truck can shoot the tank killing any group of zombies near the tank, works very well while trying to turn off the 5 fire hydrants.
Item Duplication
In solo mode, go to a checkpoint and drop the item you want to duplicate -- you can drop your entire inventory. Kill yourself (deodorant bomb, molotov etc.) and when the respawn countdown appears, pause your game and reload the checkpoint. Everything you dropped will be in on the ground AND in your inventory. You won't lose any cash for restarting the checkpoint.Weapon Duplication
Using the digital fighting control scheme, hold the LEFT TRIGGER to aim your weapon. Hit the DROP (Y/TRIANGLE) button RIGHT as you hit the RIGHT TRIGGER to throw the weapon. With the correct timing, you should throw one weapon and drop an identical one.Instant Save
I find it frustrating that the game NEVER saves. To save whenever you like, simply go to Options, select 'Controls' and set the fight style from analog to digital or vice-versa. The game saves every time you do it.Kill a Suicider Without Using Weapons
First of all, The Suicider is your friend. He's your personal mobile explosive device and is always ready for action. Suiciders can be found alone or amongst a group of enemies. When they are found in a group, run towards the Suicider, brushing it as you pass. It will build up and explode giving you time to get a safe distance while killing the enemies directly surrounding it. Simply running past the Suicider doesn't guarantee it will blow up and running head on into it is, well... suicidal!Quick Kills with Blades
When being approached by Walkers or Infected, wait until they get a few feet from you before you defend against them. Simultaneously take a step back and swing your melee weapon at them "aiming at the head" for higher damage output. Walkers and Infected usually take a huge swing at you when they get near you so performing this technique makes them miss while giving you the opportunity to decapitate them. It works nearly every time as long as your weapon's condition is at least 50% or better.Never Dull Your Weapons
No matter the weapon, no matter the level, throwing your weapons never dulls them.Avoid Zombies by Climbing Cars
Although there are a lot of rooftops in Moresby, to get away from zombies, jump on the hood of the car, and the zombies can't touch you. If you crouch and aim right, you can kill them from the safety of a car roof.Drowning Zombies for XP
If you're scooting along the island solo or with a party and you have zombies chasing you, simply run into the water, kick them and watch them drown. Easy way to get XP and not die from trying to melee the crap outta zombies.Chrome 2 Poster in Dead Island
During "Born to be Wild," talk to Mike Davies in the hotel and head into the next room with the work bench. Continue to the room with the computer and look for the Chrome 2 poster on the wall. Chrom 2's developer, Techland, is also the producer of Dead Island.Hidden Nude Pictures
Head to the mayor's office in City Hall in Act 2 (before the zombie attack). Behind the painting on the back wall in the room behind the dies are three photos of a partially nude woman. You have to knock the painting down to see them.Joe Dirt Reference
The name for the person in the laboratory is "Joel Dirt."Resident Evil Umbrella Corporation Reference
The umbrellas in Dead Island resemble the Umbrella Corp. logo from Resident Evil. Coincidence? Probably.Dead Island License Plate
The license plate on the truck you find all the car parts for says "D34D 1574ND"Easy 'I want one of those' Achievement/Trophy
Unfortunately an upgrade does not count toward this achievement/trophy, it has to be a complete mod using any available Blueprints. It does not matter which weapons you make or how many of each. The Deo-Bomb (side-quest reward) is probably the easiest to make, only requiring two Deodorant and one Duct Tape; or the Meat Bait, requiring three Meat and one Duct Tape. These items can generally be looted and purchased with ease.Easy 'Gesundheit!' Achievement/Trophy
Medkits will be scarce throughout the entirety of the game. The best option for this is to use whatever cash you have after completing the game to buy the remainder of what you need and use them all in a row while standing in some fire. You can start a new game and grab the one in the bathroom of the first room in the Prologue, use it and reload the checkpoint to farm this. You can also load Chapter 18 in a NG+ as well, there will be a handful lying there in the beginning. How to Get 'Light My Fire' and '10 Heads Are Better than One'
Getting these two Achievements / Trophies requires the same technique. In the city, simply run around and have a bunch of zombies follow you, get to a car or truck and stand on top. When they are all within range either kill ten in a row a row with head shots or throw down a molotov.Easy "Can't Touch This" Achievement/Trophy
This Achievement is quite simple, all you need is an upgraded hammer and patience. When you find a hammer go to the money collecting work benches and upgrade it all the way. Then venture out and when you find a zombie do your best to make sure it is a one to one fight. Have the zombie chase you and after its first swing kick it. When it is down kick it in the legs or chest until it has low health and finish it off with a hammer to the brain. Also, if you accidentally curb stomp the zombie and kill it with kicks it wont count against you in the counting to 15 kills with a hammer, without being touched.
New Game + mode
Successfully complete the game. Select "Next Play" to start a second
playthrough with all previously earned money and inventory items
(blueprints, weapons, etc.).
Duplicating items
Throw the weapon you want to duplicate. Before it hits the ground,
press Up. Then, choose to drop the weapon that is equipped. Exit out of
the menu, and pick up both items. Repeat this as many times as desired.
When you reach a checkpoint during any campaign quest in Solo mode, drop the item(s) on the ground you want to duplicate (you can drop all the items in your inventory). Then, kill yourself by using Deo-Bombs or Molotov's. When the respawn timer begins to countdown, pause the game, and reload your checkpoint. When you respawn, all the weapons you dropped will be back in your inventory and will also still be laying on the ground where you dropped them. Note: You also will not suffer the cash penalty from dying since you reloaded the checkpoint. This glitch was done on an unpatched version of the game.
Equip an item that can be thrown, then press [Throw Weapon] + [Drop Weapon]. Your character should throw the item, and then quickly drop a copy of the same item. Repeat this as many times as desired.
Look at your feet, hold [Throw Weapon], then hold [Swing] + [Drop Weapon]. If done correctly, the item will fall out of your hands, and you will throw another one down at your feet. Note: This can be done with both the analog and digital fighting style.
While playing as Logan, hold [Aim], then hold [Fury] while aiming at multiple zombies, then press [Attack/Throw Weapon]. Instead of Logan using his knives, he will throw the equipped weapon, causing the game to duplicate your equipped item.
Equip a stackable item, such as cocktails, grenades, medkits, etc. Make sure you are one item under your item capacity 9/10, 13/14, etc. Make sure the item is equipped and in your hand. Then, craft the Deo-Bomb, Cocktail, or Meat Bait. You will now have two stacks of that item instead of one. Repeat this as many times as desired. Just make sure you have enough materials. Note: Make sure to use a recipe that is different from the item you are duplicating, as this glitch sometimes does not work if it is done that way. For example, do not use the Deo-Bomb recipe if you are duplicating the Deo-Bomb. This glitch was done on an unpatched version of the game.
Quick travel between areas until a merchant sells the necessary materials to craft a Deo-Bomb. Then, go to a crafting table, and craft up to the max of 30 Deo-Bombs. Once you have 30 Deo-Bombs in your inventory, each new bomb crafted will create an additional 30 Deo-Bombs. Repeat this as many times as desired. -From: DJD96
Easy experience
Reach Ope's Cave in Act 3, then use the "Duplicating items" trick to
copy your most valuable weapon. Sell the weapons to a vendor to get a
lot of money, then buy Oleander from a vendor if it is available. After
buying as much Oleander as possible, fast travel back to Ope's Cave, and
turn it in to the tribesman that give you the continuous "Dreamtime"
event. Each time you turn in five Oleander Blossoms, you will get $1 and
1,000 experience points. Repeat this as many times as desired.
Easy money
Go to the warehouse, and get the Hammer and Baseball Bat. Then, fast
travel to the Church, and sell them to get approximately $400. Go back
to the Warehouse, and the Hammer and Baseball Bat will have respawned.
Repeat this as many times as desired. Note: You must be in the City and have discovered both the Church and the Warehouse to do this trick.
Find an area with a lot of value items (champagne, etc.), such as kitchens and fridges. Collect the items, then leave the area or fast travel to another location and back for the items to respawn. Collect as many items as possible, then sell them for easy money.
In the Slums, there is an abandoned building at the bottom of the map. Once it is cleared out, you can fast travel to it. In the back of the building are two rooms, and each has a fridge that sometimes contains a bottle of champagne. Keep fast traveling to another area, and then fast traveling back as many times as desired to get a lot of champagne for easy money.
Use the "Duplicating items" trick to duplicate as many items as desired. Then, sell the items for easy money.
Easy Molotov cocktails
After you complete Act 3, enter the hotel, and go down the hallways
until you reach the lounge with tables and chairs. There will be
approximately 10 bottles of alcohol on the bar that you can pick up.
These bottles of alcohol will respawn once you exit the hotel and
re-enter the hotel, traveling the same way you went. Collect as many
bottles of alcohol as desired, then go to Harland, and trade the bottles
of alcohol for Molotov cocktails. You will get one Molotov cocktail for
every three bottles of alcohol. Repeat this as many times as desired. A
Molotov cocktail can kill most zombies in a single area instantly.

Easy "Military-Industrial Complex" challenge
While doing the "Bitter Return" mission, there is a mounted machine
gun on the balcony of City Hall. Mount the machine gun and fire it.
Every bullet fired counts towards the "Military-Industrial Complex"
challenge. Keep shooting to easily complete all four levels.
Killing humans
This trick works best with Logan. To easily kill humans, throw modded
weapons. However, there are a few exceptions. The weapon must be sharp.
Blunt weapons only damage them slightly. The military machete works
best. The weapon must have either a Poison or Shock mod. Fire will not
do any damage. Make sure you upgrade the weapon to at least level 3. It
is recommended to mod a powerful weapon so it does more damage against
stronger humans. Keep your distance when throwing, and have plenty of
ammunition. This is one reason why Logan is better for this, as thrown
objects can come back to him. However, if you have a clear view of the
target, throw the weapon, and they should die instantly.
Killing large groups of zombies
When you encounter large groups of zombies or a lot of them are
chasing you, run to the closest vehicle. Jump on top of it, and crouch
on the hood. You can hit the zombies, but they should not be able to
attack you. Note: Do not do this on the roof of the vehicle, as
you will not be able to hit them, and they can still sometimes hit you.
Use the analog style of fighting to get more decapitations and swing
your weapon faster.
Drowning zombies
When zombies are chasing you, simply run into the water, then kick
them so they drown to get easy XP instead of trying to melee them.
Getting kills without dulling your weapon
Killing zombies will dull your weapon. However, when the weapon is
close to breaking, it is not completely useless. Throwing your weapons
can damage zombies without dulling the weapon. If you have a weapon
worth keeping, but it is almost used up, keep throwing it at zombies
until you can repair it again.
Hidden provocative pictures
In Act 2, enter the mayor's office in City Hall before it gets
attacked by zombies. Knock down the painting on the very back wall in
the room behind the desk to find three photos of a semi-nude blonde
woman.
